Firstly, B.H.I. attests to the clear line of "doctrinal succession" of the Baptists back to the ancient Church. They are not merely similar or close in doctrine and practice of the Apostolic Church, but they are one and the same! They are in fact that Church, that Divine Institution that our Lord Jesus Christ birthed into being.  Baptists have not always been known by that name, but were first called Christians at Antioch. Down through the bloody annals of time, they have been chronicled and later known by many names in many places, but alway identical in the doctrine and practice of the faith.

 

Secondly, B.H.I. unashamedly upholds the "Baptist Distinctives." Biblical and then historic investigation shows that they are a persecuted people. Often the their cruel treatment would come at the hands of the "professing Christian Churches." Often it was because they still adhered to those Biblical truthes or distinctions that others had abandoned.

Our Baptists ancestors thought that those "Baptist (Bible)Distinctions" were worthy of acceptance of persecution. Thus, they were maligned, mocked, ill-treated, pursued, imprisoned, tortured and cruely killed. 

 

Lastly, B.H.I. proudly proclaims colonial Baptists were pivital to America's founding as a Christian nation. Without them our American history would be quite different. God greatly used them to change the minset in the colonies. They caused "resistance towards injustices and corruption." Then they helped to bring "recognition of imperial tyranny." In so doing, this caused a "reforendum for independence."   And after the War for Independence, they showed a "resolve for individual liberty (including religious liberty.)"

 

Baptist Heritage Institute is a blending of Scriptural preaching and teaching and historical instruction. 

Our aim is to explain how Baptists have stood, shared, and suffered for the Faith—so that the next generation stands firm in Christ. Baptist Heritage is Institute was also founded to help Americans, especial believers to appreciate of our national heritage as a Christian. It is his desire that God's Church be revived, leading to many souls being saved and that our American society, including goverment officials to be influenced again as a Christian nation.
